Elon Musk Wants Twitter to Help Support Crypto in the Near Future
Elon Musk is no stranger to anyone at this time of age. For all he has ever done his purchase of the gigantic company, Twitter made a lot of buzz around the world. He continues to bring out new ideas to the market and especially in the world of technology. But what does this have to do with the world of crypto? Well, now Elon Musk wants Twitter’s own payment system to be supported by only cryptocurrencies in the future.
Preparing Ahead of Time
Twitter engineers have been told to build up the system using a platform that could in the near future support cryptocurrencies if someday the opportunity would arise. Musk has stated long ago that he wants Twitter to become an everything app by adding a payment method to the social media platform. This is still all rumors of a bigger plan in development, so we´ll have to see if they will use crypto technology or blockchain at some point. But Musk is sure that he is seeing a big role in crypto, especially with Twitter.
It´s not an unusual foreseeable future since Musk himself has had a big influence on cryptocurrencies. He´s very supportive of Dogecoin and has helped raise it by just tweeting about it. After the news broke out about the Twitter plan, Dogecoin spiked to its first 24-hour high.
Too Many Rumors to Be False
Rumors now suggest the media mogul designing his own cryptocurrency called Twitter coins after images leaked on the coin’s design. Still, there are more leaks revealing the company to have been working on a new wallet prototype designed for deposits and withdrawals for crypto. But at the beginning of January this year, recent leaks emerged showing nothing of this and no mention of crypto or blockchain in any way. An application has proceeded for state-issued regulatory licenses in the United States, which would set up a payment platform for the app. This might only take a year for the process to come through according to a source.
Change for the Better or Worse?
Plans are big for Twitter and we might not get to see it in a while but it’s safe to say that Elon Musk has got us intrigued by all his ideas. Soon we´ll see bank accounts connected to every single Twitter user and profiles incorporating debit cards while the platform is able to expedite money transfers. It´s not going to be the same platform we know and love but who´s to say change can´t be good?
